The feasibility for extension of train no. 12009/12010 MMCT-ADI Shatabdi Express to GNC has been checked and the detailed position is as under:-

Repercussions of extension exercise:­

ADl-GNC section:-

 

  • Recently, newly introduced train 22467 BSB·GNC Express running on Thursday is touching Khodiyar station (KHDB) at 14.48 hrs. It will have to wait at Khodiyar for crossing of 12010 passing Khodiyar at 15.05 hrs and 19032 passing Khodiyar at 15.22 hrs. Hence, train no. 22467 will start from Khodiyar at 15.22 hrs and would now reach Gandhinagar Capital at

15.40 hrs instead of 15.20 hrs.

Ahmedabad Station:-

 

  • At ADI, 12009 would pass through PF. no 1, whereas,train no 12010 is planned  to be received on platform 5/6 in UP direct on as 12010 cannot be received on PF no 1due to geographicaland directionalmovement.Ifit is received on PF no 1,trainwill have to cross at Saba rmatiA (SBTA) line no 3 to line no 1.This will block the movements of several lines. Also, down trains cannot be started ex ADItill the arr valof train 12010 and Up trains will have to wait at Sabarmati (SBT). Further at the time of departure from PF no 1, down trains will remainoutsideADI.

After receiving train at ADI on PF 5/6,train will start from ADIat 15.50 hrs. Due to this, 16335 Group of trains would be handed over 10 minutes late at GER on TOS of 12010 proposed Shatabdi..

  • Since watering facility is not available at GNC,in down direction halt of 15 minutes has been provided at ADIto complete this activity .In UP direction halt at ADI is only for 10 minutes.
  • National High Speed Rail Corporation ltd. (NHSRCL) is likely to start the block activities in Saba rmatiAhmedabad area after December 2021. Initially they would suspend third line on Saba rmatiBridge. Presently 104 pairs of Mail Express and 30 pairs of goods train are passing through Sabarmati Bridge. There would be a severe reduction in capacity of Sabarmati Bridge and several trains are likely to  be suspended. Extension  of  12009/12010 will  add  an addit onal pair of train running 6 days a week between ADlSBIB. This is going to add extra burden.

 

 

 

  • Further, between Ahmedabad and Vatva,NHSRCL is going to take 8 hours block for several week for erecting pillars of High Speed Trains. Due to these activities line capacity between Vatva - Ahmedabad would also be disturbed. This would also restrict running of trains between Ahmedabad - Vatva inthe ensuing period.

Enroute Repercussion:-

 

  • Due to late departure ex ADI,12010 will reach Surat at 19.00 hrs and depart at Surat at 19.05 hrs.It will pass Valsad at 19.51 hrs. During this part of journey, it will have preference over train no 59050(VG-BL passenger) at Maroli, 69140(ST-VR MEMU} at Navsariand 19426(NDB­ MMCT Exp old Number 59442} at Amalsad. Subsequently timings of train no 12432  (NZM· TVC RajdhaniExp),12264(NZM PUNE Duranto Exp},16335(GIMB NCJ Exp),16337(0K HA ERS Exp), 16333{VR L-TVC Exp) 19260 {BVC-KCVL Exp) and 12930(DHD-BRC Intercity Exp) would also be changed.All these trains will be delayed by 15"to 20" while passing Valsad.All Central Railway trains would be handed overlate by 20"minutes.This will have cascading effect on trains handing over to Central Railway. Earlier Central Railway had refused to accept any trains late at BSR Interchange point.Hence Central Railway has to accept the delayed handing over.

 

  • Due to delay in 16335 group of trains as mentioned above,IMB margin starting  from Vedhcha will be reduced to 2.30"hrs instead of 03.00" hrs {ScheduledIMB margin starting Vedhcha- 20.50 to 23.50 hrs) as UP trains are passing after block such as 19034(ADl-BL} passing Vedhcha at 23.56 hrs followed by 19038 at 00.06 hrs. And,these trains are followed by other trains which cannot be delayed.Thus,IMB block margin of 3.00" hrs would  reduce   to 2.30" hrs only.
